The Jukebox!

As promised here is the jukebox I made for my daughter's drama production at school. I would have liked to glitz it up more and make it look more realistic but I tend to run short on time and it took me two full days almost as it is. I didn't want to spend too much either as it will only be used for a week. Its cardboard boxes a few pool noodles, some spraypaint and a set of christmas lights. It was fun!!

Hi all, sorry but this is actually an older card of mine. Nothing new in the last few days as I am busy making a Jukebox for a drama production my daughter is in next week. How do I get myself into these things! Oh well when it's done I will post pics of it!

Sammy's teacup

My son just loves stamping with me and lately loves drawing stamps with me! He came up with this drawing and I was pretty impressed, for an 8 year old. So of course he couldn't wait for me to scan it and edit it and print it. There is just something imortalizing about seeing your drawings printed up and then to have someone create something with it, well! He shows everyone, or more to the point gets me to show everyone who comes here. It's so cute!

Neighbourly welcome

OK, may daughter is going to kill me for this one but here goes. We have some new neighbours down the street and they have a son one year older than my daughter. She hasn't really said she has taken a shine to him but, she met them while she was out and about with my mom on her new Rascal scooter! She came home and insisted that we make them welcome cards. It was so cute Sam got in on it too and made cards for thier daughter too. Leave it to Sam to make cards for a teenage girl (he likes older women)! Anyhoo when we went to deliver them he wasn't there much to her dissapointment. Now she is riding her bike down to the corner to see if she can be seen! Oh Lord, I am thinking, here she goes into teenagehood. Help! I am terrible at this! I wasn't good at it when I went through it, fought it tooth and nail really! We'll survive I guess!

Pool Party close up

The funny thing about this card is that I finished it three times! First there was no beach ball. It needed something so I hand drew it and colored it to match and voila! Then I decided to make his eyes blue. Oy yoiy yoiy! I am never satisfied! Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Well guys, life is what happens to you while you are busy making other plans. I wanted to clean the house before I came down to work on my tutorials and the fun stuff and guess what! The weather is nice now and I have to go to the lake to work!! HGRMPHH!!! I am bringing stuff to work on though. So sorry if you were pumped for it. Ces't la Vie! This card was cased from a Claudia Rosa tutorial on SCS. Thanks Claudia! Have a great weekend gang! The new plan is for Monday to be my big day now. BTW watched Marley and me while I cleaned the house today and BALLED like a baby. Gotta see it!

I cased this card from Mel M's site, (see my blog list Hands Head and Heart) and I added my own twist. She used a circle and hand drew the baby's face. I made the card gift tag sized and used my new Playday set from CTMH. I love that set, the possibilities are endless. I've got a crazy day ahead of me today and won't get much carding time in but keep your eyes peeled cause there are some good things to come. Awesome blog candy, tutorials and I am still gonna see if I can figure out adding video. Hold on to your pantyhose!!!!!! Have a great day all!

Specifically the patterned paper. I got an email yesterday and I won't share what was in it until it is official but what I will tell you is that throught this email I have discovered a cool new company from the UK that sells what they call Ekits for card making. They mostly have patterned paper kits that you can buy and download onto your computer to print off as you like. They have a free kit you can download if you sign up for thier newsletter which is also free by the way. It is just to keep you informed about thier latest kits and project ideas. If you want to check it out here is the link. That free kit is where I got the background paper from. Pretty nice I think! Have fun with it!

stampers group 2 project

This is the project my stamp group is going to tackle this weekend. Don't look too close I fudged mine. You see I was trying to cut corners and knew I should have used non watersoluble wood glue to glue the finished paper bottom onto the tray but I didn't want to wait for it to dry! Of course when I put the waterbased varnish over it, well the paper buckled and came unglued in some spots. DANG! My bad, oh well. Hope the girls like it. I'm going to let them "freestyle" and use whatever papers and stamps they like on thiers. I got these trays at dollaramma for a $1 each. Remember, non watersoluble wood glue and let it dry before you varnish. You could probably varnish the paper down too, it you want to take your chances!!!!

Sweet Birthday

This is my post for the weekend because it is finally nice out and I din't think I should be in my basement on a day like today. Besides, its likely to snow in June the way the weather has been going so when it does I'll do extras for that day! The green was not intentional on the cupcake but lo and behold my zig glue pen looks green and my kids were getting creative and used the glue pen to do I don't know what and got green ink on it. When I saw the first bit of green I thought "OH CRAP!", then I thought " Hey it actually matches" so I went with it!
