Here I am! Finally back in action I hope! You never know around here but for now things seem to have cooled down. I was away most of the weekend for my nephew's wedding. What a lovely wedding it was!
The weather was glorious, the service beautiful, the dinner was amazing, and the speeches were funny/heartwarming/and very genuine.
I even got to get fresh with the bride!
Now I know I have you hooked on this story! Well here it is:
The brides gown was one of those lace up dealies at the back, and the lace went all the way down to below the bum. I am sure that on some tall, long bodied, "model types" it would have ended at the small of the back. The solution for our petite, "short bodied" bride was to insert a section at the bottom to hide all the secret parts, under the lace. Well, I am sure you can guess what happened there. One side of the section came un-snapped, why it wasn't sewn in is beyond me! Had I done it, it would have been, but then I over do everything! I mean really, who wants to accidentally have their behind hang out at their own wedding! You don't leave that stuff to chance! To make matters worse one of the loops at the top of the dress broke loose as well and without it her bust was ready to run wild and free, right out of the dress!
Talk about a dress malfunction!
Thankfully I caught the bottom malfunction right away, as our table was right behind the podium. So I casually walked up to the head table after she sat down and said:
"Sweetie, your bum is hanging out."
Just kidding, I said it a little less obviously than that. I said get me a needle and thread and you will be good to go for the night! We asked around and finally went to the front desk of the hotel to ask if they had sewing kits and thankfully they did.
Now picture it, her and I in the bathroom stall, sharing a private moment with the door open the mother of the bride and a couple bridesmaids standing there and my hand up the back of her dress! Yep, there I knelt in the washroom, staring at her behind. I don't know if she was g-stringing it or totally commando but I felt bare bottom for a brief moment despite my best efforts NOT to get fresh! I apologized, she laughed. I did my best to pull that dress away from her behind but I have to say there ain't much room in those suckers for spare hands!
Like Cinderella at someone else's ball I knelt stitching the gown, whistling while I worked, in the bathroom stall! I was so disappointed that we didn't have a camera so that we could snap a picture of me biting the thread off her bum! Of course, that would have only been for "our" viewing pleasure!
Ohhhhh, what girls have to do to be perfect!
That she was, absolutely lovely. Most girls would have crumbled at that moment and probably cried, but not our bride. She took it all in stride, was a total trooper and had a huge smile on her face despite the little issues. Why, when I strolled up to the head table to tell her, she simply replied, "I thought I felt a draft back there!"
Just like her mother! You should be very proud of her PJ!
And now, for the day late button bonanza winner...........

That's a great story. Now--I want you to scrap that! LOL
Reminds me of my friends' wedding. The groom got himself a brand new suit, but didn't remember to hem it until he put it on 5 minutes before it was to start. Here I am, on the floor, taping/gluing/sewing his pant legs up! It was a funny moment. Just wish I had thought to get someone to take a picture of that.
Oh that is going to make such a marvelous memory! That story will be told to their children and grandkids! With, of course, you having a starring role for saving the day! Good job, gal!
Hugs,
