That's right.... I got a card done this round! Yippee! I had to make a birthday card for hubby and here is the result.
Yet again, I used my image HOISTING SAILS. I used it a couple weeks back for a card for my dad. I guess I like it for male cards!
I opened the file in photoshop and reduced the opacity so that it was just a soft grey line and then printed it on watercolor paper. Since I like to use a fair amount of water in my watercoloring and that can cause the black ink to smear, reducing to grey prevents the smearing and it looks more like a watercolor painting.
I am going to be totally honest with you and admit that I hated the look when I was done. I felt the painting was too dark and harsh. I figured I had nothing to loose so I took it to the sink and washed it! Yep, washed it, rubbed it, and got a good portion of the paint off and to my delighted surprise it turned out perfectly soft and dreamy like I wanted. That doesn't always happen! hahah!
Here is a close up:
I used a brown paper bag which I crumpled and tore and sponged. I stitched the edges of the image which are crooked....oy vey!
I still love it though!
I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

This is gorgeous Roberta! So thrilled to see you playing along with us this week at Simon Says Stamp and Show! I was going to tell you I loved how soft and hazy your water coloring is here and then I read how you rinsed some color off. What a cool technique and how beautiful it came out. If I ever get around to playing with watercolors again instead of my Copics, I for sure will give that a try!
Hugs,
Linda

Bert, I lost ya there for awhile, but now I'm back and just have to tell you that I LOVE this card!!! The image looks EXACTLY like a water color painting. I can't believe that you washed it in the sink!!! But whatever works, 'cause this is gorgeous! It would be perfect for the sailing brother for his B-day card. Maybe for next years.
