And here is one more of the releases I was promising. This one is called Morley Dancing. I actually used him for a card for the challenge blog this week. I would sure love to get some more entries over there. For some reason my poor challenge blog just isn't catching on.

OH MY GOSH!

I can't believe it but I forgot all about button bonanza on Sunday! GRRRRRR. So, here I am thinking I gotta go do some surfing and add some new names to my list. I was so busy with real life this past week I have been neglecting my electronic baby.

I was so DEPRESSED! I figured I will go to my followers page and randomly pick people to go and visit, and guess what! I kept going to my followers blogs and couldn't find a link button back to me. I even went to some of the gang who participated in the hop to see and a bunch there didn't have one either.  

When I finally put the entire box of kleenexes that I sobbed into in the waste basket, I pulled myself together. (Kidding!) I do however have plenty of followers who do and one of them is a lucky follower.....

Colored Pencil Tutorial #2

I had such a good response to this tutorial that I posted on PCP that I am gonna throw it on here too.

 

Start with light even coat of your lightest color. DO NOT go dark here as you will have no where to go for deeper shading if you do.

Blend this first coat right away in a circular motion with baby oil and blending stumps to SEAL the paper and get a smooth finish.

Add more of the same shade to the edges to darken them into the center. Leave a lighter strip in the middle for a highlight.

Now add a darker shade of blue to deepen the color  of the shirt still leaving the highlight and blend this as well. Since your paper is already sealed and slick, you should not need more baby oil. Just do a tiny dip if you feel it is not blending well. DO NOT OVERSATURATE your stump.

Now add some dark blue at the edges for deeper shadow. You could stop here if you are worried about ruining your work, however if you want to be daring, try adding some more color to add some more depth.

I have added some purple to the edge to make the color look richer. I increased the brightness on the pencil so you could see the color better.

Then I LIGHTLY ADDED some red and red brown to really deepen the shadow area, make it dark. I know the pic is complicated but see on the right I added the red then blended. On the left I ALSO added another coat of navy OVER the reds to get almost a blue black color. I am sure you can see the difference between the one with just blues and the one with some red. 

DON'T overdo the layering. It is better to go light and have to add more than add too much and then you can't take it back.

For more info see my other  Pencil crayon tutorial where I show you the stumps and other tools and how I store and use my baby oil. Oh and by the way, this technique also works FABULOUSLY with watercolor pencils too!

Colored Pencil Tutorial #2

I had such a good response to this tutorial that I posted on PCP that I am gonna throw it on here too.

OK. I have to tell everyone, The hop closes at 9:00 central. that's a half hour from now. Clearly I will need some time before I make the draw. I am about half way through the dt's blogs checking on all the entries and I have to say there are some missing some posts, soooooo in all fairness I will have to double check them all AFTER closing time. My internet is still bucking me and my kids are hounding me to take them to the video store! SOOOOO I promise to announce the winner as soon as I am done counting all the entries.

The bad news is who knows when it will be. I hope later tonight!

A little Friend

These two new releases are now in the store. Of course some of you were lucky enough to get this litle guy free on Friday. For those who just can't live without him, he is now in the store. 

The second release is my Lily. I love flowers. I always have and I used to get into trouble when I was a kid cause I would swipe flowers from peoples gardens. My mom didn't complain too hard cause she got them all, TEHE!

Library Allard workshop

  

 

Good morning everyone! My what a productive week I am having but I am so very busy. These two pics here are one of the three projects that participants will be making at my workshop on Thursday evening at the St. Georges Library in St. Georges.

I know the girls are expecting three cards but I just love three dimensional projects and I am hoping they don't mind that I threw one in there!

The image of course is Prairie Fairy. The cardstock from scrapaganza(going again in April, YEAH!) and I used a nestie to cut out the scallop border so they are going to be able to get their hands on my cuttlebug!!!

It is of course a frybox template that I downloaded somewhere I can't remember, I free scaled it in photoshop so that you could print two off on an 8.5x11 sheet of cardstock and I am tossing it up here for anyone to swipe! Please make sure you click on the picture first to open it in your browser BEFORE you save it to your computer or else it will be really small.

Have fun with it and hopefully anyone considering taking my workshop will be convinced now! LOL!
