The Wedding Shower card

Yeah, I know, I said I wasn't gonna be here till Monday. I have to post the shower card anyways as I am entering over at Friday Sketchers. The theme over at Crafty Angels is weddings so I am gonna throw it in there too

Now, don't laugh! Because of this card I now realize I have no images for wedding cards! What a dope, especially with wedding season upon us!

That is my new mission.

Sugarplum Fairies

Oh whew, what a weekend! 

 I sure feel like sluffer these days. I have not had any time to draw. I am so sorry. I did manage to squeeze this one out though for my lovely friends over at Susie and Vikki's christmas challenges. This by no means gives away the theme for next week, I am just trying to keep a constant fresh supply of christmas images for them as I will be sponsoring them at the end of every month from now on! So go check out their challenge for this week!

 Now I will tell you about my weekend!

Scrappaganza was a blast! What an amazing assortment of deals that I found! OY YOY YOY!

I got scads of gorgeous DP, some double sided and thick too for 10 cents each! OMG!

Die cutters, nesties blah blah blah, I don't want to brag too much!

AND.....

I won a major prize that was worth well over $250.00!

I won a zutter book binder plus the tools and carrying case, and assortment of coils and covers and the list goes on.

The truly funny story behind it is. I have been trying for the last 4 times I have been there to win that set. They have it every time! I was not even in the main room when they were drawing it, but I could hear them from the side as I was talking to my wonderful friend Sandy. She laughed at me cause I am sure she could tell I was distracted and said " I should let you listen for your name!" I paused and said watch this!

I stood in the side room WAVING my hands at Allison who was in the other room but I could see her, chanting "PRAIRIE FAIRY PRAIRY FAIRY!" NO JOKE! That was what I wrote on my ticket!

She stood there looking STUNNED for a bit no doubt thinking "prairie fairy???"

When she called out "PRAIRIE FAIRY" I FLEW out the door and into the common area jumping and screaming for joy! I couldn't believe it! I couldn't stop screaming! I was all over her like a dirty shirt!

Prairie Fairy 2nd DT call!

Yepper! You read right! We are launching our DT call today! The call will be open until Midnight Friday April 16th. Winners will be announced on Sunday April 18th. 

There are 10 spots up for grabs.

What is expected of a DT member you ask? 

1. You will be required to produce one DT card per week using the Fairy Fun Friday sketches and you must post it to your blog, therefore you must have a blog. I would love it however, if you would like to make more of course!

2. You must have the ability to produce high quality photos of your cards to post on your blog. I am not talking magazine photos here, just nice clear, well lit photos so don't be too worried about this.

3. You will be required to belong to at least one online papercraft group like splitcoaststampers or papercraft planet.

4. Lastly, you will be required to participate in any blog hops or special promotions that we are having during your term.

What do you get as a DT member?

1. Lots of exposure on your blog, as your Prairie Fairy cards will be posted on the challenge blog weekly with a link back to your blog.

2. Plenty of Prairie Fairy images to play with. The more you create with them and post to your blog, group galleries (PCP, splitcoast) and challenges you enter the more images you will get.

3. At the successful completion of your term you will receive a yummy candy bag full of crafting goodies from me. If you really impress me there just may be something else in there too!  P.S. If you are good to the fairy, she is good to you.

DT term is for a four month period, starting May 1st and completes Aug 31. 

A few things to keep in mind.

I take many things into consideration. The reality is that you have designers so that they can show off your stuff for ya. On that note, it is important to keep in mind that it will help a lot if you are very active on your blog.

Don't get discouraged if you feel like your cards are not perfect masterpieces, that is not all that I look at. The reality is that we do this because we love it and most of us aren't Picasso's! Of course it is nice to have beautiful cards but it is just as important to have lots of friends visiting your blog.

To enter I have posted a freebie here that I would like you to create a card with. You can then post that card on your blog and enter the direct link to that card here so that I can go check ya out! Don't feel too pressured, I will be checking out your other work too so my decision won't be based solely on this card.
Also, I would like you to add the DT call button to your sidebar with a link back here to the DT call post.

Cupcake Album

YES! You read right.........CUPCAKE! I have always had an obsession with cupcakes. And I, for some strange reason, cannot control myself lately. This is actually an 8" x 8" mini album I created. My daughter recently celebrated her twelfth birthday, sob sob for mom, and I wanted to make a mini album of her occasion. This weekend Corry, Lori and I are going to scrappaganza, yeah!, and I wanted to actually do some scrapbooking, hence the album. Probably won't actually happen but whatever, at least I tried! And here is is:

Of course it looks all flat and stupid right now because there is nothing in it but blank pages and only about 12 because it is a mini album and knowing me the spine will need room to grow as I will layer the dickens out of those pages! Buttons, papers, clips and brads!

Whew!

I created the album my enlarging one of my cupcake files to 9" and once cut it makes an 8 x 8" album. Yep, that's right, you can enlarge those files to a full page! Can't do that with rubber! Yippee!

I LOVE my ZUTTER! Amore!

Another Birthday Card!

Here I am with another birthday card, which happens to be late. Why you ask? Well if you know me I am a procrastinator extraordinaire! I was waiting till we had an invite to cake and yummy ice cream till I made the card because of course I would make it a couple hours before the party but the invite never came!!! AHEM! It's not that I am lazy or anything like that and trying to put off doing things it is just my, what I like to call, commando lifestyle. I get in, get what needs to be done at the moment and get out and on to the next thing. And another thing with me is there is ALWAYS a next thing!

I am actually entering this one over at cute card thursday this week.

The theme is monochromatic.

The Prairie Fairies Gallery blog

The Prairie Fairies Gallery blog is now up and running. I am still adding photos. To be honest I haven't had much time for it lately but there are some in there. The purpose of the gallery blog was to be able to post cards made with specific images in their own categories. I love things to be clean and simple, easy to find. 

So if you have purchased a particular image and you want some inspiration just go to the gallery blog and go to the labels list and find your image and voila, you will find all the cards posted with that image!

Another cupcake!

Yep! A lot of parties lately, a lot of cupcakes!

I actually made this one yesterday and it was my challenge card for Fairy Fun Fridays.

I am posting it here cause I want to enter it in Friday Sketchers this week.

I used the heart topped cupcake from the Cuppycakes set. I colored the base of the cupcake with my copics E35 and E77.

I colored the hearts with copics as well RV 37 and RV39.

I colored the edge of the icing with Prismas Goldenrod and Burnt Ochre.

I sponged around the edge of the scallop circle that I cut with my nesties with Brown Bag ink from CTMH. 

I also used prisma glitter on the icing and crystal effects on the hearts to make them look like candies.

Sentiment is from stampin up.

Hope ya aren't sick of CUPCAKES!

Jumbo cupcake card!

I got to have a little fun today. The excuse is that my daughter needed a fabulous card for her girlfriends birthday tonight. Of course when you are a hermit like me who has so much to do at home that you never leave it, you have to make a super fantastic card to put the plain old money in!

I used the plain cupcake image from the Cuppycakes set. I enlarged it in photoshop to measure approx. 5" x 6", printed it off twice, once for the base and again for the top (tutorial to follow) to create the card.

I colored the image with my prismacolor pencils, baby oil and blending stumps. 

The colors I used are:

Raspberry and Black Cherry for the topping.

Burnt ochre, Espresso, and Black Cherry for the bottom.

I used my million dollar Twinkle brads from CTMH (I hope you keep this card forever Lisa!) cause they were just cryin' out to go on here. I also used some prisma glitter and a few twinkles too. 

I pop dotted the topping on to the card base.

A scrap of ribbon, a tag and a green baby pin and voila!

Finally...a new release!

Oh me oh my I have been busy. Not just with stampin, everything! Spring, cleaning, yard work, whatever! I have however managed to whip up some new cuties. The catch is that they are all sets. Boy/girl cutie pies, and I am only releasing one set at a time say every other day, just to keep ya curious about what's next.

I see the followers list is creeping up there and getting close to that 500 follower mark! I mean wow guys, thanks so much! I can't believe it! I remember wishing I had 20! Even the PCP group hit 200 today! I am working on a freebie for the occasion but you will have to go to the group page to get it!

Finally...a new release!

Oh me oh my I have been busy. Not just with stampin, everything! Spring, cleaning, yard work, whatever! I have however managed to whip up some new cuties. The catch is that they are all sets. Boy/girl cutie pies, and I am only releasing one set at a time say every other day, just to keep ya curious about what's next.

I see the followers list is creeping up there and getting close to that 500 follower mark! I mean wow guys, thanks so much! I can't believe it! I remember wishing I had 20! Even the PCP group hit 200 today! I am working on a freebie for the occasion but you will have to go to the group page to get it!
