With Love....

I am here to make bit of an announcement. One of my lovely DT members, Tonya, needs a little more time at home right now. She is one busy girl and the fairy understands completely! I have always said family comes first! BUT... we won't miss her! Why???? While it may seem sad that she is leaving the Design Team I am happy to announce that I have invited Tonya to be an

Honorary Fairy!

What can I say other than, she has been absolutely amazing and wonderful and helped me so much over the last few weeks with my site, my blogs and everything else too and has never asked anything in return, despite my best efforts! I can honestly say I feel very fortunate to have met her and I am so glad our paths have crossed.

So, while she needs to step down from DT responsibilities for now, she is of course invited to participate whenever she is able being an Honorary Fairy and all.

Having said this......I have an open spot on the team and..............

I have invited Trisha from T Bear's Touch to join the Dt and she has agreed!

Yeah!

Welcome Trisha!

Off to bed for me gang!

PS. That photoshop tutorial is still on the way.

All New Look!

Well, here it is! The new blog! I could just burst is it so awesome! Yippee! AND...you got it, the challenge blog is all prettied up too! There is a brand new gallery there as well, which I am still working on uploading Prairie Fairy projects to. The fantastic part of the gallery is:

1. All the cards uploaded are being placed into their own albums in specific categories. So if you buy a particular image and you want some inspiration just go to that image's album to see some wonderful artwork and creations.

2. YOU can upload your Prairie Fairy creations to the gallery! Yep, that's right. I will showcase particular artists as well. Uploads will have to be approved by me so don't panic if you don't see your card there right away. I have not put all the different categories in yet either so don't be surprised if you don't see a particular one there yet.

I hope you all like the new matchy poo pooness of it all! I know I do! HE HE! I have someone very special to thank for all of this. A very dear to my heart friend that really I just made a short time ago but has turned out to be one of those people you feel like you have known forever.

She is, an absolutely amazing, wonderful and giving person. Always there to lend a hand and never makes me feel like a total idiot when I ask my silly questions. Thanks so much Tonya for your help with my new blog(s) launch!

Kaboodle Doodles! Wahoodles!

Yes, I am sponsoring yet another challenge blog this week wow!

Kaboodle Doodles has a challenge going right now where you have to use 3 papers, two embellies, and 1 image I believe.

Here is my take. This is actually an old card I started, tore apart, (never happy with it) and revamped. I think it works and though it is not my fave, I am much more satisfied with it now.

I used the image Little Lady which is in the store for $3. Don't forget about the Fairy Special Rewards program. Also, I have just had a gift certificate add on put into my cart program and as soon as I figure it out they will be available!

Happy monday! Yeah right!

DCD Christmas Challenges Sponsor!

Woo, I am a hot tamale this week! I am also sponsoring Susie and Vikki's christmas Challenges blog this week as I will always be last week of every month. I also get to be a guest designer for the week I sponsor and here is my card:

The theme this week is baby's first Christmas. We all used the same image for our cards so we could see the variations we would come up with. You have got to go and see the other DT cards they are fab! I am entering this over at Cupcake Craft Challenges as I think it fits the theme. You are supposed to use only black and grey with one color, you were allowed to use skin/hair tones, and I hope my bunny's fur is considered "hair". Other than that area where I am not positive they will accept it I think it is pretty much bang on for the challenge. Allsorts has the same theme. And it is Monochromatic over at Kaboodle Doodles!.
Creative inspirations is using stitching, faux or real.

This image is called Bundeer and can be purchased in the shop for $3.

I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend and for those of you in the U.S are having a wonderful long weekend!

Sponsoring Sweet Sketch Wednesday

Good morning everyone!

Just wanted to pop in and let you all know that I am sponsoring Sweet Sketch Wednesday this week.

Here is my take on their sketch.

Now I know you are thinking, "something looks different here." Yes, this is one of my images called In the Garden and yes I printed it. So where are the black lines? HE HE!

I opened the file in photoshop and reduced the opacity so that it was just a pale greyline image. I printed it onto watercolor paper, Arches 150lb cold pressed, and watercolored it with watercolor paint. I just had to color it in, no smearing because the print lines were so soft they just get lost in the image.

You can see how pale it was by the signature.

Hope you like it!

Back from the boonies!

I am home and back to civilization! The good thing about being out there though was that I brought my sketch book! I have some new releases coming your way soon.

I did do a little hopping tonight though and came across this post over a Pixie Dust studios. It touched my heart and I would love to help Kathy get the word out. Since posting a comment Kathy has emailed me and we are working on something together to help this family out so stay tuned.

For now though please head over to Kathy's blog to get more info on how you can make Super Sam's day.

I have also posted a link in the sidebar!

Limited connections!

Hello everyone! I hope you are all  having a wonderful long weeknd! I have been away from home since friday. We are out at our cabin and up until today have had no internet connection. We are now hooked up via satelite which seems to be very slow so I am assuming our trailer here has shifted maybe. I am not sure why but I can access blogger but not my gmail. It just sits there trying to load it and then gives me a connection error message. I am wondering if it is too big to load and times out after a certain period of time. I cant even log into my settings to switch it to a slow internet connection. Oh the joys of internet, love and hate it! Maybe someone is telling me something. I am just letting everyone know this so that those of you who won at FFF on friday know why I have not sent your files yet. Have no fear fairy fans, I will be home tomorrow and my appologies for making everyone wait.

Happy sunday!

I'm BACK with a Button Bonanza Winner!

Here I am! Finally back in action I hope! You never know around here but for now things seem to have cooled down. I was away most of the weekend for my nephew's wedding. What a lovely wedding it was!

The weather was glorious, the service beautiful, the dinner was amazing, and the speeches were funny/heartwarming/and very genuine.

I even got to get fresh with the bride!
Now I know I have you hooked on this story! Well here it is:

The brides gown was one of those lace up dealies at the back, and the lace went all the way down to below the bum. I am sure that on some tall, long bodied, "model types" it would have ended at the small of the back. The solution for our petite, "short bodied" bride was to insert a section at the bottom to hide all the secret parts, under the lace. Well, I am sure you can guess what happened there. One side of the section came un-snapped, why it wasn't sewn in is beyond me! Had I done it, it would have been, but then I over do everything! I mean really, who wants to accidentally have their behind hang out at their own wedding! You don't leave that stuff to chance! To make matters worse one of the loops at the top of the dress broke loose as well and without it her bust was ready to run wild and free, right out of the dress!

Talk about a dress malfunction!
Thankfully I caught the bottom malfunction right away, as our table was right behind the podium. So I casually walked up to the head table after she sat down and said:

"Sweetie, your bum is hanging out."

Just kidding, I said it a little less obviously than that. I said get me a needle and thread and you will be good to go for the night! We asked around and finally went to the front desk of the hotel to ask if they had sewing kits and thankfully they did.

Now picture it, her and I in the bathroom stall, sharing a private moment with the door open the mother of the bride and a couple bridesmaids standing there and my hand up the back of her dress! Yep, there I knelt in the washroom, staring at her behind. I don't know if she was g-stringing it or totally commando but I felt bare bottom for a brief moment despite my best efforts NOT to get fresh! I apologized, she laughed. I did my best to pull that dress away from her behind but I have to say there ain't much room in those suckers for spare hands!
Like Cinderella at someone else's ball I knelt stitching the gown, whistling while I worked, in the bathroom stall! I was so disappointed that we didn't have a camera so that we could snap a picture of me biting the thread off her bum! Of course, that would have only been for "our" viewing pleasure!

Ohhhhh, what girls have to do to be perfect!
That she was, absolutely lovely. Most girls would have crumbled at that moment and probably cried, but not our bride.  She took it all in stride, was a total trooper and had a huge smile on her face despite the little issues. Why, when I strolled up to the head table to tell her, she simply replied, "I thought I felt a draft back there!"
Just like her mother! You should be very proud of her PJ!

And now, for the day late button bonanza winner...........

Me 'n' my Grampa

Can you believe it? I have a new release. One piddly new release but it is something. Unfortunately, this is a very busy time of year for me so I must apologize for not offering up many new images to look at.

This is one that I have had in my mind to do for a while now. I had some pictures of my son and my dad filleting fish after a day out fishing together. I thought it would make a lovey card for a grampa or even a father's day card for a grampa.

You can purchase Me 'n' my Grampa for 3$.
It's in the store now!

Have a wonderful monday everyone!

Recycled card???

I think I am totally breaking all the rules but it is my challenge blog!

Yes I will be loading this card over there sometime today for my sample of recycled. How is it recycled? HE HE! This was an old card front I had from a while back that I never made a card out of. I have been so busy and sorry mom but I didn't get a chance to custom make a card for my mom for mother's day. So I took this card front and changed the sentiment, added some flowers and a base and voila!

I like it so much better now. I am not so sure I actually recycled anything but oh well. I guess as one of the girls on my DT said about one of their cards "I re-purposed it."
The image I used is called Fairy Happy Valentines and you can purchase it in the store for $3.

Go and check it out!
Both teams have created some amazing eye candy for you with some Paper Temptress papers and Prairie Fairy digital stamps!
Here is my creation that I made:
I used the metallic text digital paper behind the ballerina to (get this) emboss my sentiment on with my PRINTER! Yep. I ran it through my printer and quickly poured my embossing powder on and Voila! It also has the most beautiful shimmer to it. Here is a close up:
You can see the shimmery quality of the paper here. I used the light pink color of this paper behind the ribbon and around the edge for even more sparkle. I got the multi pack which had so many beautiful colors to choose from! You will love it!
 And my second creation is:
I have to admit that my papers got mixed up, (sorry Patricia!) and I am not sure what one of the papers I used is called. Update! Patricia tells me it is the Pink BASIS.  The paper I speak of is the pale pink one behind my image, it has a mottled look to it. I stamped pink flowers on it.  And for the green and dark pink parts I used the metalic text digital yet again! I love that stuff. I even CUSTOM MADE my own cherry for the top that I put crystal effects on to make it thick and glossy! Yum! The sentiment was made by me in photoshop.
And here is a well lit close up of the cherry I made with the pink metallic text digital paper. I shadowed the cherry a bit with a copic marker around the edges and in the middle where the stem comes out, and quickly smudged it with my finger. The liquid glass really gives it a thick juicy look!
And a close up of the layers!
I am entering this into the following challenges which I of course made this card specifically for:
Pile it on  Make it sweet
Cupcakes Anything but Square
Cute Card Thursday  Make your own (I made my cherry!)
Wish me luck!

Make sure you go and visit everyone to see their lovely creations!
I am going to post something a little later to show of some of the wonderful thing the Temptress's paper can do. Life just kinda caught up with me.

I hope you enjoyed your visit here with me! Your next stop along the crumb trail is Kelly S
at crafting creatively.

The Hop starts at 10:00am Friday April 30th!
