Happy Birthday Trisha!

Happy Monday everyone! Yeah I know, whatever. hehehehe.

Today is a special day because it is one of my fairies birthdays! Happy birthday Trish! I actually made this card to post for the hop but didn't have time to finish it till just today. WHEW!

I used one of my new releases from the Japanese collection called Japanese Lanterns. I colored them with prisma pencils and baby oil with blending stumps. I cut out the image with a nestie and the "hangover" technique (my name for it)  that I did a mini tut for here. I used a corner punch, tab punch, tag punch and a leaf punch! I followed the sketch at Friday Sketchers and made a secret message pocket.

I am entering these challenges with my card:

Cupcake Crafts Go Digital

Cupcake inspirations photo/color inspiration

Bee crafty Anything goes

Charisma HOT HOT HOT! ( I think my lanterns are hot! hahahah and the warm colors of the DP)

Fairy Fun Fridays!

Well, I actually got a card done for the challenge this week! Yeah me. I even have a tut to go with it!

Here is my card

The image I used is of course my brand new one called WATERING CAN.

My little mini tut is on how to use your nesties and cut around the image in areas like I did here. It has fast become my favorite technique. I really love to use my images large on my card for big impact. Often, however, if there is a full border around it, it just takes up the whole cardfront. So, here is how you get around that.

You will want to choose a die and lay it over your image to see if it is a good fit for what you want to leave hanging over the edge.

You will then want to cut straight into the spots where it is going to hang over the edge. Try to stay close to the image. You will have to over cut slightly to account for the inside edge of the nestie. I lay it over the image and mark it with a pencil. The cut out sections that you don't want cut by the nestie have to lay on top of it as shown (nestie cutting side face down) , so they don't get cut. This can be tricky, take your time.

Once cut you can use a tan mat like I did plus 2 B plates on your cuttlebug to emboss the edges.

Cut around the overhanging parts and voila! If you like you can even sponge around the edge with the die still on to get a white border around the image. You can see that I did that on my finished card.

Hope you liked the tutorial and I hope you head over to Fairy Fun Fridays to get in on the Punch it theme!

Watering can

You know when you have those days that just make you wanna go back to bed and hide under the covers??? Today was one of those days. I think I am over it now cause I have been telling myself that there are much worse things that could happen and I am a fortunate person, truly blessed.

We had our shed broken into last night and all of our bikes were stolen but my son's. Guess his was too small to ride off on. They were just bikes BUT, mine was so special to me. I had had a TERRIBLE bike for years. My DH kept saying, "go buy yourself a decent bike!" I am a tight wad and what I wanted was gonna be hard to find! I hate bikes that make you hunch over and strain your neck, I hate tiny bike seats that disappear into the worst places! So two christmases ago he bought the most beautiful bike, shocks on the handlebars and seats, nice n big, but not geeky big, cushioned seat, a women's upright mountain bike. I mean he really listened to what I wanted. He tricked me too and put a book under our tree on how to be a better catholic too, and let me believe that was all I was getting (I tried very hard to be happy with my gift HA HA!) He is like that. When I saw that bike when he finally gave it to me, I screamed, I loved it so much. Now, it is gone.

What are you gonna do. I just have to tell myself that the person who stole it is obviously not as blessed as me.

On a high note, I have a new release for you and MANY more to come. I have finally got my mojo back and I have been on a roll, I even have some collections coming out. We are also planning a huge blog hop and all the girls on the DT are offering up some candy and I am gonna have some wicked sick candy too. I mean BIG!

Here is my release for today.

You can purchase WATERING CAN for $3.

Don't forget about the Fairy Special Rewards program. The more you purchase the bigger the discount.

Have a safe and happy weekend everyone!

The Doctors!

Well, I haven't been around much at all this summer. My mom and I had a rough patch there for a bit, hers rougher than mine but I had my fair share. Sick in the summer is just not fair! I have done a couple images here and one has a story behind it.

So, I had started this image quite a while ago. A special image that I wanted to use to create a custom gift for my mom's doctor who got her through her bowel obstruction. It is kind of a funny story about this stamp as it is created in "his" image, at least to the best of my ability. Really it personifies him. My first impression was not flattering I suppose. We were waiting to see the doctor the night they admitted my mom. Down the hallway saunters this very young guy, all dressed up in his trendy American Eagle gear complete with the Baggar Vance hat tilted to the side AND a very fashionable man bag! I though who is this punk? Some flirty young nurse coming to check in on my mom before he leaves (everyone loves my mom, the four foot gramma that looks like Thumblelina would when she became a gramma).

When he said he was the surgeon and told us his plans, I freaked! I immediately thought, "yeah right, I am gonna let Jonas brother here cut open my mom!" Several serious conversations with my brother later and a surprise consent form signed by my dad later and mom had surgery. All turned out well (besides the C-Diff infection!) and here we are and I would like to make him a cheeky little plaque for his office. I haven't made it yet and I will post it when I do BUT I have posted him in the store for you to use if ya think he is cute. Oh I wonder what he would think if he saw this post! LOL!

You can purchase DR. KINSLEY for $3.

I also of course made a Dr Lewis too!

You can purchase DR. LEWIS for $3.

I am still taking my time getting back to normal. I just took my last antibiotic today.

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!
