Sponsoring DCD Christmas challenges

Well, it is end of the month again and as usual I am sponsoring over at DCD Christmas club challenges. The theme this week, chosen by me is DIGITAL CHRISTMAS. I have used one of my digital images for my card called POLAR PALS. This is going to throw you off though because I was a little sneeky....

OK, I know you are asking, how was I sneaky. Well, here is the absolute beauty of digital stamps! I took the Polar pals image, put it into photoshop (you can do this in paint too), cropped the image so that only one of the penguins was still in there and then I used my eraser tool to erase the little bits of the eskimo fairy out. Once I had my "new" image ready, I resized it bigger to fit my card and then printed it off! Yep, whole new card from one image. LOVE IT! Here is the image in full:

Here is a close up:

I colored this up with my prismas, used crystal stickles on the edges, made the pin and.......... used my BRAND NEW TOY!!!

Yep, I got a cricut. Why? Well dagnabbit it is so much fun (never thought I would love it so much) AND I am going to be making SVG cutting files for it! Soon to be in the store! wahooooo!

Here is a pic of the section I cut out for my card which was so easy cause my card base was 6" so I cut it 5 3/4 " and voila! Perfect fit! I can even reuse the center piece.

I have resisted buying the darn thing cause I always thought "as if I am going to spend all that money buying those cartridges!" NOW I realize just how much is on a cartridge and the fact that I can cut any "diecut" I have (or create) any size I want from 1/2" up to 12" high and 24" long!!!! I mean holy creamoly! I seriously LOVE this thing!

I am going to enter my card into the following challenges:

Papertake weekly Sparkly and bright

Spoonfull of sugar diecuts and punches (I used two different nesties)

Fussy and Fancy winter wonderland

frosted designs use Diecuts

Paper Gardens holiday cards

Candy Wrapper midway reminder.....

Good morning! Everyone ready for Halloween? Not me! I always deck out the yard for the occasion and I am so glad it falls on the weekend. Now I can relax during the weekend and take my time setting it all up. Hope the weather is good.

My candy wrapper card is actually a Halloween card!

Here is the wrappers I used

and here is the card I created:

I used my image BREWIN SPELLS and I colored Gillian up with my prismas and copics. The usual....I think I am going to post a tut on how I do my coloring with both soon so watch for it. I used some glittery foam stars that I got from the dollar store (local) and a twig from our yard to make her broom. I used my lg scallop nestie and the smallest die from one of the nesties labels (can't remember which number it is) for the sentiment which I made in photoshop.

here is a couple close ups:

You can see here how I glossed up her glasses and the frogs eyes.

I did some faux stitching around the edges of my paper which are K & Company, I love their papers. Little stickles around the edges and voila!

Challenges I am entering are:

Cupcake crafts sweet treats with a twist

Cuttlebug spot anything fall (halloween is in the fall) I used my cuttlebug to cut out the nesties.

Simon Says Stamp and Show something spookay!

Digital Teusday use a non craft item (the candy wrappers are not a craft item and my twig counts too I think!) (Of course I used a digital image, mine heheh)

Spoon full of Sugar Diecutting or punches ( I used two different die cuts)

Papertake Weekly Sparkly and Bright

Cute Card Thursday so transparent (the clear 3-D gloss on her glasses and frogs eyes)

Just so Ducky!

Wow, do I ever feel out of touch! I have been busy, with lots of things. Some computer and some not. I have MANY new things to come.

I am going to be offering my images in PNG format now along with the JPEG format for all of the digital scrapbookers out there. YEAH!

I am also working on creating SVG files for my images to use with CRICUT machines! Will get into that more later!

I am also going to be offering up some fully colored watercolor stamps, for those of you who would just love some beautiful clip art.

ahhhhhhh breathe....... once things start moving there are going to be posts like mad!

I have also been doing some blog designing as mentioned previously and I have a couple recent ones that I have done. Truth be told, that is one reason why images have been so slim lately and I am sorry for that.

The most recent blog I did asked for a custom image to use on her blog and she happens to be one of my Fairies! I created some ducks for Lori's blog which I have now completed and you can check it out HERE! I will be adding this to the store soon. I just have some stuff to catch up on first! he he!

Here are the Duckies I created for Lori's blog.

Not only do you get Dandy and Deanna in jpeg, you will also receive in your zip file, a colored PNG (has a clear background) as well as an uncolored PNG which has a clear background and the duck is white with black outlines, all for just $3. Why is this a good thing? Well, when you go to open your image in your paint program or photoshop, if you use your paintbucket tool you wont have the color bleed into the background!

I am going to be doing some more photoshop tutorials soon, once winter settles in and I am stuck indoors! haha!

Stay tuned for more fab stuff from the fairy!

FFF Midway reminder card Tickets and Tags

That's right.... I got a card done this round! Yippee! I had to make a birthday card for hubby and here is the result.

Yet again, I used my image HOISTING SAILS. I used it a couple weeks back for a card for my dad. I guess I like it for male cards!

I opened the file in photoshop and reduced the opacity so that it was just a soft grey line and then printed it on watercolor paper. Since I like to use a fair amount of water in my watercoloring and that can cause the black ink to smear, reducing to grey prevents the smearing and it looks more like a watercolor painting.

I am going to be totally honest with you and admit that I hated the look when I was done. I felt the painting was too dark and harsh. I figured I had nothing to loose so I took it to the sink and washed it! Yep, washed it, rubbed it, and got a good portion of the paint off and to my delighted surprise it turned out perfectly soft and dreamy like I wanted. That doesn't always happen! hahah!

Here is a close up:

I used a brown paper bag which I crumpled and tore and sponged. I stitched the edges of the image which are crooked....oy vey!

I still love it though!

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Cards for men Birthday

Oh La La Nothing floral

Simon Says Stamp and show Show some metal!

Papertake Weekly 3 of a kind  ( I have 3 DPs, 3 brads, and.....3 boats on my image! HA HA! That is a triple play!)

Candy winner!

Happy Hump day!!!!!

I have a winner for my candy. What I did was add the extra entries for those who did not know to add each entry separately, at the end. So if someone was the first one to have all there entries on one link and they had a total of 3 entries, I added the 2 extra entries as 128, and 129 and so on until all the entries were there. Just wanted to let everyone know that all their entries counted!

I then checked the winner to see if they in fact did qualify for that winning entry and the winner is:
