I don't normally rant about stuff like this on here but this is IMPORTANT!!!!!
Would you believe this:
This HORROR film is........ did you catch that......is RATED G! Yep. General, suitable for viewing by all ages.
Guess what else! It is on Netflix right now! (Update, they have since changed the rating to not rated despite the fact that many other companies have rated it R). Yep. Your child whom you think is safe because you put all those parental controls onto your TV's and devices may have already selected this and watched it. Boom! Easy as that, because you guessed it. It has a G rating. Even though it is listed in the HORROR section!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE:
go to the MOTION PICTURE ASSOCIATION site and let them know what you think of this.
You can also EMAIL THEM as well EMAIL THEM HERE TOO. Update, they See information at bottom of post!
I would also LOVE IT if you would CALL NETFLIX CUSTOMER SERVICE (1-888-811-9842) and tell them like I did that despite the GENERAL RATING of this movie by the MPA (see info below) that they have a moral and even possibly a legal responsibility to either re-rate this movie themselves or to choose NOT TO CARRY IT in their movie selections to protect their customers from accidental viewing by their children!
I myself am and artist, I completely understand free speech, freedom to create HOWEVER this is plain absolute NEGLIGENCE on THEIR PART to have NOT RATED this movie appropriately. They (at least someone should!!!) have a responsibility to the public to appropriately rate films for the protection of young children and to see them put a rating saying that this is appropriate viewing for ALL AGES, You have GOT TO BE KIDDING ME. I am going to make it a personal VENDETTA to make sure that I post everywhere I possibly can to ask people to LET THE APPROPRIATE PARTIES KNOW JUST WHAT THEY THINK of the rating system. Sick, disgusting, repulsive, repugnant, garbage like that, in my opinion, should not even be produced let alone viewed.
Another update. I have in fact heard back from mpa-Canada and they advised that they did give this movie and 18-A rating but it seems that because this movie was produced by an independant film company IFC films and Six Entertainment " Neither IFC Films or Six Entertainment is a member of MPA-Canada, nor do they participate in the Canadian Home Video Rating System. "
I want to share this comment the representative sent to me:
"If we can provide any further assistance to you to ensure your complaint reaches the appropriate people please let us know. We share your concerns and firmly believe that classifications need to be a tool that parents can rely on to ensure that their children are seeing age appropriate content."
Will keep you posted.

7 presents to open!:
this looks like a typo, most sites either have it rated as R or NR, including Netflix. You should contact the site that is pictured in the post and request they update it. This is the link the MPAA will send you to to verify a film's rating. http://www.filmratings.com/filmRatings_Cara/#/home/
I agree with Jennifer...a typo. I looked it up where I get movies (Blockbuster) and it is rated NR.
Some other sites have it rated as R.
Oh I wish it were a typo. That picture came from itunes. I took that screen capture less than 5 hours ago. I also called NetFlix to ask them why they would have put that movie in their selection as a G movie and they told me that they agreed that it seemed crazy but that it was in fact rated G and that I should complain to the mpaa! I know that when I googled it I did find a site that rated it R but I myself think they had the common sense to re-rate it themselves. When you google itunes and that movie it says not rated BUT if you go into itunes to actually purchase it, that screen above is what you see with it rated as G. And how could netflix say it is rated G if it is not?
I wonder if Netflix got off the phone with me and panicked. Looked into it and changed the rating. I have not since been on it but it definitely was rated G on netflix last night! It is still on itunes rated G. Either way, my goal was to nip that in the butt and if Netflix has since re-rated it then that is great. Now for itunes! There are even reviews on itunes where someone asks why it is rated G, so it is not just me seeing it.
That is unbelievable. Of course if you give someone the opportunity to rate their own films they're going to rate it for the most exposure they can get. Duh! That definitely needs to be changed. I did check Netflix and it is listed and unrated. I don't watch stuff like that and for sure don't want my kids watching it. I'll have to look into the "rules" here in the US and make sure it's not the same way with the ratings.
WOW did they mess up. There is no way I would let a child under 18 see that film.
I have friends that have seen that that are over 40 and they think it's a really disgusting, gross and scary movie, it should really be more then G!
Hugs, Elenor
